Made to be
Off the Wall
1/17/08
I'd like to make a suggestion, however, I have a
feeling very few will take me up on it. I understand, because
you have decided to read the newspaper and just started, you
don't want to put it down until you browsed over the last page.
For those who are willing, get out of your chairs,
walk over to the largest mirror in your home and stand in front
of it. Hey this really isn't as stupid as you may think.
Rather than asking what you are seeing, I am going
to tell you. How do you like that? In the reflection of this
glass is a very special person, nurtured from the time of conception
to this very date. You are virtually looking at someone "made
to be."
Now, I'm not saying you were made as in the case
of a building, computer or vehicle was developed. You were created
to be a human being, and truthfully, I think, you've done as
much as you can do so far with God's help.
In case you sat down in the mean time, get back
up and look at yourself in the mirror. OK, now you can sit down.
What you saw was a truly blessed person. Don't say, "Not
me," because I won't buy into that poppycock. Ever since
you were born, someone was there to watch over you, making sure
you had the best possible care under the circumstances. Granted,
we all weren't raised the same. Some may have had it better than
others. That's life, but you made it this far, and that's not
all that bad.
O.K., I'll agree life hasn't been all fun and games,
but who said it would be. Sometimes our down times are the moments
that teach us the most. But getting right down to it, you have
thoroughly been blessed, even though you never gave it any thought.
Look around and see everything you own, the people who mean the
most to you and those who love you as well. Aren't you glad someone
took the trouble to care for you until such time as you could
care for yourself? Now, let me flip the coin if I may.
Do you know there are literally thousands of people
each year who don't value life, think only of themselves, and
don't care how immoral their pursuits are as long as they get
what they want? These could be politicians, doctors or pregnant
women.
Right now, our country is in a horrible state of
affairs. There are people running for the office of the presidency
of the United States who want more bills passed to increase the
immorality of abortions in this country. Their campaigns are
being fed by immoral citizens who promote this outlandish behavior
by funding them so that bills go through the Senate and House
of Representatives permitting this atrocity.
Let's just say for a moment, you weren't wanted
when you were born. Can you imagine being tortured to death?
Second, just think of all the things on which you would have
missed out.
Remember your childhood. I doat least some of it.
It was a fun time. I like having fun. Kind of remember my first
date. Kind of don't want to. How about driving the car for the
first time without either of your parents along? It was kind
of scary and exciting all at once. How about the day you spotted
your spouse and decided that was the person for you. To say you
were on a high is putting it mildly. I could go on, but I think
you get the message. You were blessed. Someone cared that you
are with us. I (we) care as well.
Next Tuesday, the country will be heading to Washington
D.C. where thousands will gather to pray to put an end to this
immorality of abortion in this country. It must be a fervent
effort on all who care for the nation's future. If we allow this
degradation to continue, we'll be beyond turning back and have
only ourselves to blame.
